The last few weeks of the semester are usually a blur of activities on campus as deadlines approach and people all over campus realize that most of the students and faculty will be leaving soon.
I spent the day at the Appalachian Craft Center Celebration. This is Tim Hintz, a chair maker. The Celebration is the only time the studios are open to the public.
The Craft Center faculty and students are regular customers.
We have had cold weather and we have had precipitation but no snow all month. We did have country singer Rodney Atkins getting an alumni award this week.

Whew, busy month. We are at the end of the semester "Uh Oh, we need these all ASAP" crunch. Lots of basketball photos too. Saturday night we had a double dunk shot that shattered the backboard. It took about 75 minutes to clean up the broken glass and replace the board so the game could continue. Mike, Cari and I were all shooting and got photos but Tony had the best shot with back lighting making the glass shards shimmer.
I am in Gatlinburg for the Tennesee College Public Relations fall conference. I have a session on simple lighting techniques at 9AM Thursday. Then a quick side trip thru the Smokies on the way home...... Dean
I am leaving in a few minutes for Auburn Alabama via Atlanta for Tech's football game Saturday. Just two assignments on Sunday so I may get the grass cut too. Dean
I am headed to Ole Miss for the University Photographers Assocation board meeting this weekend. We will have a long day of riding the folding chairs but it's just twice a year and worth the trouble. Dean
